A festival within the festival, the anycitywhatever is a picnic table with local, regional and postnational protagonists of urban futurism. The mission of this 3 hour talkshow and interactive momentum machine, is to find out what it actually means when we say networked technologies are changing the way we understand, build and inhabit cities. And when we uncover the ‘raw’ truth about what is being presented and evangelised at Picnic, how can we use our new tools to start improving Amsterdam in the 21st century today?
In the first part, we pan out for a panoramic view of global developments in networked urbanism with our visiting friends from abroad. After a break, we zoom in on Amsterdam and its Structural Vision Amsterdam 2040, and present local actors already designing urban services that have an immediate impact on the daily lives of Amsterdammers.
